Recommendation Process

2013 GSA applicants will receive information about their assigned audition/review date, time and location via email in late January 2013.  At that point, applicants are also directed to a link where they can download forms for GSA’s Recommendation Process.

All applicants must have two recommendation forms submitted per art form for which they are applying:

  • Student Recommendation – Administrator’s Copy
  • Student Recommendation – Teacher’s Copy

These forms will be accompanied by detailed instructions for the Recommendation Process. The Administrator’s Copy is to be filled out by a school administrator, usually a guidance counselor.  The Teacher’s Copy may be filled out by a teacher or private instructor of the student’s choice. If you are homeschooled, these forms may be filled out by someone who is familiar with your character, talent, and abilities (i.e. a mentor from the community, a place of worship, sports, etc.).  Parents may not complete recommendation forms.

These recommendation forms are used to provide additional context and background information for each applicant.  While adjudicators will have access to each recommendation form during auditions/reviews, keep in mind that the actual audition/review is the most important step toward being accepted into GSA’s summer program!
